Cookie Policy
In short: TallaghtOnline.ie uses only the cookies it needs to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies to build a profile of you.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as whether you are logged in. Under Irish law (the ePrivacy Regulations 2011), a website needs your consent for cookies unless they are strictly necessary for the service you asked for.
2. Cookies we use
Most visitors will get no cookies at all. Cookies are only set when you log in or use a feature that needs them.
| Cookie | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps writers and the administrator logged in | Necessary | Session, or 14 days with “Remember me” |
wordpress_sec_* | Secures the login session | Necessary | As above |
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks your browser accepts cookies on the login page | Necessary | Session |
wp-settings-* | Remembers dashboard layout for logged-in users | Necessary | 1 year |
Because these are strictly necessary, they do not need your consent and there is no cookie banner. If we ever add analytics or other optional cookies, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
3. Other storage in your browser
Some features save small preferences in your browser’s local storage, such as your answers in the Day Planner or a dismissed notice. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
4. Third-party services
Our pages load maps from OpenStreetMap and typefaces from Google Fonts. These services receive your IP address so they can send the files to your browser, but they do not set cookies through our site.
Links to other websites, such as Facebook or a business’s own site, are covered by those websites’ own cookie policies.
5. Managing cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading the site, but writers and the administrator will not be able to log in.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
